Marchfest goes earlier for 2019

The next MarchFest craft beer & music festival will take place on Saturday, 9th of March 2019, as the culmination of the 3rd annual Nelson Beer Week (Mar 2-9).
Marchfest organisers have decided to bring the event forward by two weeks.
“We normally catch the first cooler temperatures of Autumn,” says co-owner Mic Dover, “so this is an attempt to be a bit warmer and drier on the big day!”
MarchFest has also decided to create a TASTING BAR for the first time, so that festival goers can sample a paddle of 5 taster-sized brews.” We are adding a new marquee next to the Brew Zone, dedicated to the tasting of this year’s 15 brand new beers,” said co-owner Eelco Boswijk, “beer lovers can sit at tables, sample a few beers, maybe with their lunch, before going to the main bars to enjoy more of their favourites.”
This year’s live music acts include Newtown Rocksteady, The Narcs, Zorn, Culture Embassy and Buskudara. The headline act will be announced later this year.
Earlybird tickets go on sale on Sat Dec 1st from and usual outlets

Marchfest is a unique craft beer and music festival, held in New Zealand’s main hop growing region Nelson, at the top of the South Island. Unlike ordinary beer festivals, all the beers available at MarchFest have been specially commissioned for the event and have never previously been tasted by the public. 2018 was the biggest MarchFest yet, with a sell-out crowd of more than 4000 people enjoying the one-day event, all set in the beautiful, traffic-free environment of Founders Heritage Park.
Marchfest also includes the Brew Zone where beers are created on the day and the Gourmet Beer and Food Matching Lunch.
Marchfest is the keynote event of Nelson Beer Week (NBW) now in its third year. Last year over 25 fun beer-related events were held across different venues, involving great beers from Kiwi breweries all over the country.
But MarchFest is not just about beer. Great live music is always a big feature of the event. Previous acts include Alabama 3, Tahuna Breaks, Ladi6, Sola Rosa, Hollie Smith, Mel Parsons, The Miltones, Weird Together, Don McGlashan, The Eastern, John Cooper Clarke and many more..
It’s also about local wines, ciders, regional cuisine, a hops showcase and an educational forum for home/wannabe brewers.
Last but not least, MarchFest is an event where responsible drinking and good parenting go hand-in-hand. There is heaps of cool stuff for kids to do in the Kids Zone. It’s hard to believe such a combination can work, but the thousands of people who attend each year are testimony that it does!
The next Marchfest is on Sat 9th March, 2019 from noon to 9.30pm at Founder’s Heritage Park, Nelson, NZ.
